2017 Badgers Football

Postby BF004 » Thu Aug 10, 2017 5:39 pm

Damn: http://www.jsonline.com/story/sports/bl ... 555644001/

Think starting out ranked 10th in the coaches poll, 9th on ESPN with a cupcake schedule.

Very good chance of ending up in the playoff with 1 loss, if we beat Michigan or some other teams who ends up being ranked well.

Funny, 2 days ago I was looking for a picture of the scoreboard but could not find one. Must have been too embarrassing.

October 3rd, 2020, Notre Dame @ Wisconsin at Lambeau
September 25, 2021, Wisconsin @ Notre Dame at Soldier Field

Glad they are doing this again (both playing at Lambeau and playing relevant non-conference teams).

Not sure if true, but saw on Twitter that Notre Dame is actually the home team at Lambeau and the Badgers in Chicago.

Really surprised to hear Hornibrook is the most efficient passer in the big ten. He's been one of the least impressive players this year. Was expecting him to start getting some draft hype this year, not seeing what I saw last year.

233 for Johnathan Thomas and he'll be the first true freshman to 1000 yards in 6 games. 5 players have done it in 7 games which includes Emmitt Smith, Marshal Faulk and Adrian Peterson.

Don't like Wisconsin playing down to the competition against both Northwestern and Purdue, but wins are wins.

Penn State and Ohio State both losing hurt us in terms of getting a nice quality win to end the year.

MSU and OSU both with 1 conference loss heading into next weekend. The game will likely end up being the Big Ten East Championship game for the right to play Wisconsin. Not sure who I want to win more, Ohio State is likely better and can be ranked higher by the Big Ten Championship game and I think we match up well with them. Their D isn't very good and I think our D matches up pretty well against them.

Need Michigan to beat Maryland for sure and they should be top 20 ranked for our first game against a ranked opponent all season.

Iowa might look like a good win for us this weekend if we blow them up given how they handled Ohio State.

Get good wins vs Iowa and Michigan and hope whoever is in the Championship is ranked as high as they can be.

Need to start turning it on and get some more quality wins if we want to be in the Playoff. Need to beat Iowa and Michigan by 30+ each, both at home, can be doable.

If we win out, we are in. If we lose once, we are out. I don't think it will matter how we win. They aren't keeping an undefeated big conference team out of the playoffs. Right now I think Wisconsin is the only chance the Big Ten has of making the playoffs.
