Going to be a make or break year for Roenicke. We need a backup infielder, probably RH in case Gennet needs a platoon guy too. If Braun can ever get healthy that would be huge but I see him as just average now. Need a 1st baseman and 3rd baseman of the future to pair if/when Ramirez is back.

Bullpen needs a few more guys but I don't think is bad. Can't remember if Estrada is back but if he is he needs to be a Long relief guy and spot starter. Peralta will continue to be a beast in the rotation I think.

Still a lot I like about this team but the rest of the division is just going to get better and better too.

Ramirez and Gallardo officially back. Team and player options both accepted. Weeks is a goner.

Marco Estrada traded to the Blue Jays for Adam Lind.

I'd like to see exactly how Fiers comes out next year before I deal Yovanni.

The latest word is that a Gallardo deal is done and we are waiting on medical people signoff... Confirms what NYPost reported this AM

Intrigued by what they get back. Seems like bigger new might be that they are targeting Price or Zimmermann.

I said we should cut ties with yo in a different thread here. The guy is very average and gets paid like a stud. Yes he eats innings and will throw a gem here and there, but way to inconsistent. So happy to have him off the books. Hopefully they bring zimmy home to wisconsin. I won't hold my breath though. I love my Brewers but when ownership always talks about keeping salary around 100 mil or less i worry winning it all is their bottom line.

Jimmy Nelson with 2 pitches scares me. So does fiers.

Brewers get Corey Knebel (23 yrs, P), Marcos Diplan (18yrs, P, once considered top international prospect) and Luis Sardinas (#7 prospect in Texas, 21yrs, IF) from Texas.

We give up Gallardo and $4 Million in cash.

If Diplan works out, it's a nice deal for us. Some young talent, and we save $9M that Haudricort figures we'll use on a reliever or 2. Mevlin says he didn't now Zimmermann was available and they weren't after Price. That remains to be seen. Overall, I think a good move for this club. Needed an influx of younger talent again.

I like this move. I have always liked Gallardo but he was going to be gone and could get roughed up a bit. Key for a small market team like us to get something in return. Seems like we got 3 solid guys back who are at least young and have some potential.

Zimmerman could be a possibility, Melvin usually doesn't say anything at all before making a move. I am not expecting it.

Will be interested to see what we do with a very young starting rotation if the current one is kept. Next year we free up a lot of money with guys going to free agency.

Much better than letting him walk in a year.

This is just what teams like us have to do to stay competitive with our payroll.

I am so sick of winter. Everyone has arrived and first full squad practice is tomorrow.

Lets get this seasons started. Our offense looks like it may be pretty good if Braun returns to any of his pre injury form. Lind will help. Scooter and Davis another year of experience and , Segura hopefully rebounds, but we also got Sardinas now too. Starting and relief pitching may be rocky.
