Pete was never around school, always away playing tournaments; he'd come back for CIF finals and blow away some dude 6-0, 6-0 who was 3 years older then him and much taller. Pretty funny

That is great! Thanks for sharing.

Federer out. Disappointing but not surprising.

Murray-Dimitrov should be a really good match, and then the winner vs Nadal.

Also looking forward to Wawrinka-Nishikori, and then the winner vs Djokovic.

I wonder if Federer retires soon. He made a comments after the loss where he said he has had about 8 days off in the last year. I've never heard him say anything like that before. Mentally, I think he is already checking out. If he results suffer, I think he hangs it up.

I am pulling for Nadal to win it all.

Perhaps, he has a whole family to take care of and he's been playing forever.

On that last note, Nadal just got destroyed by his usual lapdog Berdych and I couldn't be happier :D

Should be a good final....Djok in 5.

I've got Murray in 4. I just think that he's in the right mental zone right now, and Djokovic has looked just a tad shaky this tournament (to me).

Should be good, even though Murray bores me to death. :AOK

But yeah, tennis is dying because of the media powers. Very sad. It is the most "pure" sport there is.

For once, I agree with you. In Europe, tennis is still strong, but slowly fading. Squash and badminton are down as well. Replaced by "ADHD sports". Soccer is the only slower sport immune to it.

I think tennis is a beautiful sport. Watching it requires some knowledge and patience. I played as a kid, and the human confrontation in skill and will was so much fun!

I don't think the serving specialists of the 90s and 00s have done the sport any favors. Everyone loves long rallies. When it became a good serve and one or two touches, it became pretty nasty to watch.

I've actually started to play padel, a mexican version with always 2-2 matches with tennis rules, except it's kinda mix-and-match with squash, as there are walls you can bounce the ball off (after initial bounce off the ground). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B7XjDmB1RNI

Ohhhhhhh ughhh lost today 6-1; 4-6; 7-5. Was winning 3-5* in the third and had match point but blew it, and then choked away the next four games.

I won this morning: 7-5, 6-3. I was up 5-1 in the 1st set and almost blew it. My game went completely off the rails for about 4 games.

I blew a 4-0 lead on Friday. I really need to work on finishing matches strong.

Weather was beautiful yesterday though, AFTER my match. We played in the morning when it was still overcast, chilly, and windy, and as soon as we ended it turned into the most gorgeous weather.

I feel the same way.

Last night was beautiful as well. I play in a doubles league and it was a perfect night for tennis.

Just switched to a new racquet. Really liking it.

Looks like weather here will be finally coming around this week, can't wait to hit the courts!

What did you switch to?

I have a match later today at 4PM but I am guessing it will be cancelled. It's raining by me right now and it probably won't dry by the late afternoon. Especially with more rain expected.

I have not picked up a racquet or been to the gym in 2 weeks. Sick, work and a lot of house projects have been cluttering up the hours.

Yeah this weather has just been atrocious. Time for it to get nice already!

I switched to a Dunlop Muscle Weave 200G. It's small, it's heavy, but those are positives in my opinion!

Well, McEnroe did pretty well with it. I see they retooled it and brought it back. It should be a good stick. Let me know how you like it.
