Helpful Draft Links

Postby BF004 » Tue Jan 07, 2014 6:21 pm

General Draft Sites:
DraftTek - lots of features and stuff including a draft simulator.
NFL Draft Scout content provided by CBS
NFL Draft Scout the original
NEPatriotsDraft is part of a network of about six or seven team-named draft rankings sites.
Walter Football is another one.
Great Blue North Links page has links to multiple draft sites.
Optimum Scouting /Sporting News-Interviews/Player Bios/"A player you should know about" type pieces
withthefirstpick.com Some good in-depth scouting reports

ESPN
East Coast Sports
Draft Countdown
KFFL

Mock Drafts:
Mock Drafts from the CBS sports desk
HailRedskins.com has a mock draft database where you can get a good feel for what a LOT of people think about the first round.

Prospect Rankings:
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/prospectrankings - most comprehensive site I can find. Goes 750 prospects deep and very easily copies and pastes into Excel / Google Spreasheets
http://walterfootball.com/draft2008P.php#2014positions - This is position by position rather than just a big board. Also has a write up on each prospect and splits up 3-4 and 4-3 rankings for defense. Very valuable site.

YouTube:
When searching on players' game action, I always try to find whole game cut-ups. That will give you a look at the player on good, bad, ugly and nondescript plays.
Favorite cut-up providers
JPDraftJedi
JustisM Football Mix Tapes

Team Needs:
NFL.com Team Needs

Draft Trade Value Chart:
http://www.footballperspective.com/draft-value-chart/ - This site shows both Jimmy Johnson's infamous draft value chart, as well as his own calculated draft chart where he actually fit a regression equation to every draft pick for draft pick trade over the last few years, updated after the 2012 draft. Might need another updating again soon with the new CBA, but IMO, likely more accurate than Jimmy Johnson's.

The JustisM Sites:
Optimum Scouting /Sporting News-Interviews/Player Bios/"A player you should know about" type pieces
Draft Mecca -a gambling column and have the ability to write whatever else I want on there. Only written one piece there, IIRC (Derek Carr)
DraftBreakdown-cutting videos, I'm in charge of their QB rankings, too. Also have the freedom to write whatever there
The Sports Headquarters-Weekly -Weekly draft pod with my man Seth Cox

Feel free to add links and mods, help post the links to the OP. Also, I request this be stickied.

I added a YouTube header to the original post. Including this...

Can't go to youtube while at work so I can't find the link now, but our very own justis probably makes the best draft cuts around.

For those interested in small school prospects you will like draftdaddy.com

Vic is a huge fan of scout Tony Pauline. Pauline has his own site Draft Insider

Any new draft rankings site you guys check out? I've been stuck on CBS/Draft Scout for a while. I like them overall, but some things I'm not digging this year.
