2014 Outlook
Defensive end Randy Gregory burst onto the scene for Nebraska in 2013 and ended the year as one of the most impactful defenders in the Big Ten Conference. Gregory was a dominant pass rusher from his defensive end spot, leading the conference in sacks and ranking among the league leaders in tackles for loss.

Despite being a newcomer to the conference, Gregory was a first-team all-conference choice by both the coaches and the media and was a semfinalist for the Hendricks Award, given to the nation’s top defensive end.

Gregory returns in 2014 to anchor the Nebraska defensive front and is expected to contend for major conference and national honors. Gregory has been working in the offseason to become a more consistent run stopper, while keeping his incredible burst off the edge on passing downs.

The 6-6, 245-pound Gregory finished 2013 with 10.5 sacks for 69 yards in losses and was in on 19 tackles for loss, totaling 101 yards. Gregory had at least one sack in seven of the final eight games, and had at least one tackle for loss in each of the final 12 games.

The 10.5 sacks were 2.5 more than Ohio State’s Noah Spence for the Big Ten lead, and Gregory’s sack total ranked 15th nationally. He had 9.0 of his sacks in Big Ten Conference games, including three sacks at Michigan. His conference sack total was 2.5 more sacks than any other player in the league. Gregory also ranked second in the conference in tackles for loss, trailing only OSU linebacker Ryan Shazier.

Gregory’s big-play ability did not stop with tackles behind the line. He had an interception return for a touchdown against South Dakota State, and a fumble caused and recovered at Purdue. He also led the team with a team-high 18 quarterback hurries, including four each against Michigan State and Southern Miss.

Gregory joined the Nebraska program in August after spending the past two seasons at Arizona Western Community College.

Pass rushers rank second only to quarterbacks in value in today's NFL and though the juco transfer remains a bit rough around the edges, his length, burst and powerful hands are undeniable.

After being projected a high pick in multiple mock drafts the past few weeks, Nebraska junior Randy Gregory got more attention on Tuesday.
NFL.com posted a list of the top 14 "most explosive athletes in college football" for the 2014 season.
Here is what they said about Gregory:
Gregory led the Big Ten last season with 9.5 sacks and was fourth with 16 tackles for loss. He is a speedy force off the edge (he has been clocked as quick as 4.67 seconds in the 40) who could stand to get a bit stronger. But his pass-rush abilities definitely already have drawn the attention of NFL scouts. Gregory had nine sacks in 2011 as a true freshman at Arizona Western Community College but missed the 2012 season with a broken leg and still is learning how to be a well-rounded defensive end. Gregory is from the Indianapolis area -- he signed with Purdue as a 210-pound defensive end out of high school but was an academic non-qualifier.

Guy sounds awesome... like the sort of prospect you hope you don't have the chance to take because he'll go top ten-fifteen.

I want impressed much either. He has a whole off-season to bulk up and grow and 13 more tries to impress, plus he has two first names.

yep as long as it isnt against the badgers i dont care what he does. speaking of the badgers they sure got a schedule where running the table should be very doable. The LSU game is key.

So, how far does he fall? Sounds like there have been several flags put up on him, not just the pot thing.
