Now I'm just leaving out Kendricks to piss everyone off. Jones is getting some great press right now. Great Pro Day. Many think he'll jump into the first round. I'm on the boat that it'll be CB heavy as well. I don't think Jones will be there for us in the 2nd. I thought about both Perryman and Dawson in the 2nd. Not sure they'll be there either.

Mayock has Dawson as his number two ILB.

I am confused as I thought I heard this draft was terrible for CBs and yet we are always slated to take one. Would grabbing a CB at this spot be a reach?

I don't think this is a bad cb draft at all. Maybe not at the tophalf of the 1 st round but there is a lot of nice prospects.

I agree I don't see jones there at the bottom of the 2nd. I would be fine with him here. Would prefer a trade back and getting him but that's just wishful thinking.

I don't like the Edwards pick. He's not a pass rusher and with his smaller size for our d I don't see him being a force in the run d. Just doesn't fit.

Frankly most of this first round is a reach at any position. I think it's a pretty decent draft, but not a ton of high end talent. They could be there, but not many guys who people say "best in the last 5 drafts". Everyone seems to be viewed as a step behind the top guys they last few years.

In my mind, end of round 1, if you can get a guy who can contribute or start right away, you did well. If they can start year 2 full time, you did well.

I almost see Edwards as a Neal replacement. Maybe not the best fit, but he can do a bit of everything. Someone who can develop. He's even dropped into coverage some. I think the Packers could look at him due to his versatility.

I don't think the draft is bad for CBs, but it's very much an "eye of the beholder" draft at the positions. Scheme fit will make a lot of difference. There are clearly guys who can play, but several of them have obvious limitations: speed, experience, height, etc.

It depends which traits you prioritize and where you allow exceptions in terms of how you'll rate a player.

That allows for a lot of variability for anyone from the mid first round to the late second round.

Like WRs in 2011, I think we can get a guy we want in round 1 fall to us in round 2. I had a feeling Cobb would fall to us and I have a feeling the same could happen this year. Can't wait till May 1.

only 3 have 1st round grades, of those, 2 are rated at the end of the 1st round, and CB is another highly reached for player group, so I expect those 3 will be gone, 4 more are rated as 2nd round prospects, I expect one will be available to us, or Ted could wiggle up to get one.

If we go BPA at our slot I don't see CB being the pick.
